Meet Our Team

Will Overton - Director at Vectis Refrigeration

Will Overton

Director

I set up Vectis Refrigeration in 2015 with the vision of becoming the Isle of Wight’s most reliable environmentally friendly refrigeration service company. Since then I’ve been building a team who work hard to help reduce carbon emissions within our own operations as well as for our clients

I bring more than 23 years of experience in designing, installing and servicing bespoke cooling and have transferred my knowledge and skills to heating systems. After qualifying in 2000, I worked for a company responsible for designing, manufacturing and installing custom refrigeration equipment for the Royal Navy where equipment was expected to perform, with zero tolerance for failure, even under the most extreme circumstances. This ingrained ethos and the problem-solving skills I developed have stood me in good stead for building a robust business

I am a member of the Institute of Refrigeration, and Vectis Refrigeration  are a Building Engineering Services Association member and we hold REFCOM Elite FGAS accreditation.

I arrived in Cowes in 2007 having worked as Engineer/1st mate onboard an 86’ classic sailing yacht, I have sailed all my life and I love to get in or on the water. Windsurfing, Wing foiling and Sailing are where I go to release the stresses of the working week. I also enjoy playing the drums.

Tom Newnham - Senior Engineer at Vectis Refrigeration

Tom Newman T.Minst.R

Senior Engineer

I am Senior Engineer at Vectis Refrigeration and my background is in refrigeration installation, service and maintenance across a wide range of industries. I joined Vectis in 2019.

The team are fantastic people to work with and everyone has good work ethic. Driven from the top, we are all focussed on maintaining the highest level of service for our customers, with safety at the forefront of our delivery.

No day is the same, I work on all types of equipment. One day I might work on an Anaerobic Digester plant with a complex multi refrigerant system; whilst the next day I could be supporting high end food retail or local hospitality businesses. I take great pride and job satisfaction knowing that we can maintain all types of HVACR equipment.

Vectis Refrigeration has really helped me develop as an engineer and I now hold my ACRIB skills card, C&G Cat 1 FGAS, Co2 and Care/Hydrocarbon gas certification amongst others.

When I’m not working, I love listening to live music, hanging out on the local beaches, and exploring our wonderful island.

Engineer

I joined the Vectis Refrigeration team at the start of 2024. I've been a refrigeration engineer for 9 years now. My background is supermarket refrigeration and air conditioning.

I have City and Guilds Level 2 qualifications in both Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. I also have my CARE refrigerant qualification allowing me to work safely and competently on any refrigeration system contacting Hydrocarbons.

I recently became qualified to work on systems containing CO2.

Vectis is a great company to work for as they offer the perfect work/life balance for someone with young children. There are numerous training opportunities available to enable us to provide competent diagnosis and repairs to all refrigerated equipment.

I’m very passionate about seeing the positive improvements moving forward with the Isle of Wight becoming greener and using sustainable resources.

Outside of work I spend as much quality time with my children than I can. When I’m not with them I spend time mountain biking.

I recently passed my Cat 4 Fgas, I also have my Pasma, Ipaf and Cscs card.

I love to play 6 aside football, I also quite like pub quizzes. I enjoy going to the beach and spending time with the mrs and little one.

From 2012 to 2019, I ran my own self-employed business, gaining invaluable experience across a wide range of industries.

Currently, I am proud to be part of the team at Vectis Refrigeration, where I work alongside a dedicated group of engineers committed to customer care and sustainability. Vectis Refrigeration’s focus on achieving Net-Zero in FM—including refrigeration—aligns perfectly with my own values, making every job both meaningful and rewarding.

Since moving to the Isle of Wight in 2006 after years of holidaying here, I’ve embraced island life wholeheartedly. I enjoy spending quality time with my wife, children, and grandchildren, and love walking my dog, Dexter, around the stunning landscapes of the Island.

For me, job satisfaction is about knowing I’ve made a difference. There’s nothing better than going home at the end of the day knowing I’ve earned my pay and helped my customers with the highest level of service.

Refrigerated Trailer Hire

Elsa Refrigerated Trailer Hire

Elsa

I arrived in March 2020 and was built as a multi temperature refrigerated trailer.

I am obviously the coolest member of the team! I give our clients peace of mind by refrigerating or freezing their stock so that they can continue to trade whilst essential or new works are carried out on their premises.

I love visiting the stunning different locations on the island where I am deployed to chill out. I especially enjoy the Isle of Wight Festival!

Olaf Refrigerated Trailer Hire at a music festival

Olaf

I am Elsa's older brother and like her, I am also an expert in refrigeration. I arrived in May 2021, have a license to chill and enjoy a great lifestyle, touring the island. I am well cleaned and loved, and the biggest perk of my job is hanging out with some epic Isle of Wight icons.

I do like to set the bar, but just being part of the awesome Vectis Refrigeration team, ready to cool at a moment’s notice, is what makes me happy.
